Documentary “Dzi Croquettes” tells the story of the group, the members and their journey. We’ll go from their unique concept in Rio de Janeiro (1968) to being banned and censored by the violent military regime in 1972 to their enormous success in Brazil and Europe in the mid 70s.The Documentary features interviews with director/choreographer Ron Lewis, Brazilian artists such as Gilberto Gil, César Camargo Mariano, Marília Pêra, Ney Matogrosso, the surviving members of the group and Liza Minnelli, who became a personal friend and played a major role in their path to success. Journalists, photographers and film directors saw their lives changed forever by the Dzi Croquettes and their amazing passage through Paris… Their history embraces pop culture of the 1970’s and 1980’s, it features to the public all the violent years of dictatorship in Brazil and how they fought against it with humor, talent and irony, the sexual revolution, the beginning of AIDS in the 80’s and the
enormous legacy that would remain.
