She studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/Main (1982-1984). From 1984 to 1991, she worked at Cologne’s Schauspielhaus, at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, at the Schaubühne in Berlin, and at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. From 1990 to 1995, she studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. Since 1995, she has worked as a freelance screenwriter and director.
