Marek Edelman was a widely recognized leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. But how many people have heard of his wife, Ala? Before the war, as a little girl, she became a major character in the most popular reading primer in Poland. She was a ghetto survivor, afterwards she devoted all her attention to children of the world and she helped to save lives and heal hundreds of kids.
