Lambert Hillyer (1889-1969)

American film director and screenwriter. A former journalist who came from a show-business family – his mother was an actress – western specialist Lambert Hillyer entered films in 1917. After becoming a director, he soon teamed up with cowboy actor William S. Hart for a series of westerns. Overall he directed over 160 films between 1917 and 1949. He also wrote for 54 films between 1917 and 1948.
