Somewhere at the Arizona highway policeman stops a speeding truck with Martin Penwald “The Rubber Duck” at the wheel. He refuses to pay the ticket. It is not his first conflict with police officers, who, in his opinion, wait only for bribes. At the nearby stop it comes to a fight with Sheriff Wallace’s people. Other truckers inquire of this accident and join Penwald by forming a protest convoy. Conflict with the police and the Home Guard gains them an unexpected fame. In addition media make the story big.
