TWO RIVERSIDES Festival presents A DIFFERENT WORLD

The Festival begins in three months, but Grażyna Torbicka, Artistic Director of the Festival, is inviting you now to come for the fourth time to Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec by the Vistula River. During the first week of August Kazimierz Dolny will change into a cinema town. Among many interesting points, this year’s programme includes the retrospective of Carl Theodor Dreyer’s films. Together with Ingmar Bergman, this Danish filmmaker is considered the most distinguished Scandinavian director. The guests from the Danish Film Institute will accompany us while pondering over his phenomenon.

Lech Majewski – a director, screenwriter, poet, composer and visual artist – accepted our invitation to the festival. This year’s edition of the event will be inaugurated byJózef Skrzek and SSB band. During the OPENING CONCERT they will present film music connected with Majewski’s works and the works of other filmmakers.

This year Jerzy Stuhr will be our guest in ‘God created actor…’ section. Apart from many examples of his cinematic achievements, you will have the opportunity to watch him in ‘The Double Bass’, Stuhr’s rarely staged monodrama. You will also have a chance to meet Filip Bajon, one of our guests during ‘Cinema lessons- confessions of a filmmaker’.

The selection of films will last until the end of Cannes International Film Festival. In our programme this year you will find Juan Jose Campanella’s „El secreto de sus ojos”, the 2010 Oscar winner in ‘Foreign Language Film’ category.

See you at TWO RIVERSIDES Festival in Kazimierz and Janowiec, from July 31st to August 8th!!!
